Gee, what could possibly go wrong with this bright idea?

I have to admit I haven’t been paying a great deal of attention to threatened unilateral declarations of statehood from the Palestinian camp because it’s far too outlandish a notion at this stage to take seriously – unless there was already an agreement in place with the Israelis about such common everyday basics like air, land or water rights, electricity and a plan to deal with the ‘settlers’. Not to mention the PLO has unilaterally declared statehood before, and nothing much came of it. As far as the ‘threat value’ goes it is kind of lame; especially when you cannot even get the Euroweanies or Hamas to support you. Now declarations of war are another matter entirely. Arutz Sheva:

(IsraelNN.com) A senior official of Fatah, the ruling faction of the Palestinian Authority, has openly called for a return to an “armed struggle” against Israel to establish a new Arab state within Israel’s current borders. He stated that the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) approved an “armed struggle” in a meeting this past August.

Nabil Sha’ath, who was the PA’s first foreign minister when the late PLO chief Yasser Arafat was in power, told an Arabic-language newspaper, “We tried for 18 years through negotiations despite Israel’s aggressiveness against us and attempts to destroy our rights,” he asserted.

Alas, the one thing the Palestinians just cannot quite seem to grasp is that wars against the Jews never seem to go according to plan.

    huh. There’s a saying,that history repeats itself.
I know that all “Palestinians” shouldn’t be painted w/one brush, but there must be some who feel that war w/ Israel is a bad idea. Too bad thinking aloud is not allowed.

Yes, and when either Fatah or Hamas find those Palestinians, they usually come to a bad end – as in summary execution.
