Purim or the balancing act between life and death

This year for Purim I am recycling this picture. It’s been on my computer forever. Someone sent it to me from Israel years ago and while I saved the picture to my computer I can’t find the original email nor did I save any particulars about the picture. If anyone knows – leave me a comment so I can give credit where due.

Some liken Purim as the Jewish Halloween and while I understand the obvious parallels – owing to the dressing in costumes and giving out candy, Purim is not about spirits and goblins or scaring the spirits away. It is one of the few happy religious festivals in the Jewish calendar.

This Purim is a little different for me. This time I am not going anywhere and will have all of the tribe observing it with me. While my road to observance has been slow, winding and twisted; the Tribe has not exactly kept up. More or less, they have been picking and choosing depending on their mood and what is convenient. I do not blame them as its has been entirely my fault. Sometimes with wrong turns, twisted roads or dark and stormy nights – mistakes in judgement happen and it takes time to correct them. This is were perseverance and patience is the order of the days.

Chag Purim Sameach or depending on your religious inclination – Freilichen Purim

Re: chumra – his lack of stockings shocked me as well …although, I didn’t think the rifle make his butt look big but I see others disagreed.

    His rifle strap doesn’t match.
And I think it’s tacky to wear similar shoes like his date.
He should have his own style.

@beachnut Point taken but at least his hair isn’t longer than his date’s.

oh man, ain’t that the truth beachnut!

it is sooooooooooooo creepy when you see these couples dressed IDENTICALLY coming down the street. There’s just something a little bit ‘off’ about them :D
